making LAMP WORK BEADS experience!

Hello :-)

Finally, Spring has come to Otaru.
The townscape of Otaru is really beautiful when it's sunny.
I really would like you to come to Otaru and see it once :)

By the way, I went to a glass studio with my friend short time ago...

to make lamp work beads!

The location we made lamp work beads is "Tombo-dama kan" of Taisho glass.
(Lamp work beads are called Tombo-dama in Japanese)
We decided to make lamp work beads with pattern of cherry blossom(limited time offer)  because it's spring.. haha:D

Please continue to read :)

* HOW TO MAKE LAMP WORK BEADS *
1. Select the color of glass.
2. Melt glass and make them sphere with rotate an iron stick.
(If you like patterned lamp work beads, you can add in the progress of work2.)
3.Make them cool in ash for 40minutes.

Very easy and sounds fun, isn't it? :)

Now let me show you some pictures.

These tiny things are parts of cherry blossom.
After sticking them to melted glass, make them bloom by pressing with iron stick.

My friend melting glass on a gas burner...
It was little scary, but also fun!

Lamp work beads have to be cooled in ash to prevent it from getting cracked.

This is the lamp work bead I made!
Can you see beautiful cherry blossom in a glass?
(Though I'm not good at making things, it was easy and fun!haha)

And you can make it keyholder or accesorries if you pay additional charges.

Making lamp work beads experience doesn't need any reservation.
I think you can remember the memories in Otaru everytime you see the lamp work beads...<3 p="">

Also there are various making experience of glass in Otaru.
